Spring Break Information

Library staff will be taking a well deserved break over the bank holiday weekend. We will be back in on Wednesday 3rd April at 9am but library services will still be running, and there are lots of UON teams onsite if you need them.

'Favourites' is a way of storing ebooks and journal articles in NELSON, that you want to come back to at another time. You can favourite ebooks and journal articles in NELSON and it also saves all your searches (the words you type into the search bar at the top) and you can also save searches that you do a lot. We have a guide available about saving your favourites.

You start by logging into NELSON, we have a help guide available for you about logging into your account. When you are logged in, you can see your account by clicking on the down arrow next to your name or student number, and then click on ‘Search History’.

Search history is the bottom option of the drop-down menu

This will open a new page, where you can chose the records you want to see. ‘Saved Records' will show you the ebooks and journals you have pinned, or favourited.

Tick box next to each entry

‘Saved searches’ will show you search terms that you have pinned or favourited. These are words you have typed into the NELSON’s search box and then pinned:

Saved searches is the middle tab

‘Search history’ is all the word combinations you have typed into NELSON’s search box in this session. When you log out, or NELSON times out and you have to log in again, this will reset and become blank again:

Search history is the third tab
