Q. Why can't my student submit late to Turnitin?


There are two reasons:

  1. The submission point may not allow late submissions.
    • From the assignment inbox, choose Edit assignment, expand the Optional settings and ensure the Allow submissions after the due date? is set to Yes.

  2. The student may have already submitted a piece of work.
    • On the due date, all submitted work is locked for assessment and re-submission is not allowed. If you have given a student an extension and they want to submit late, but have submitted a draft assignment before the due date, you will need to delete their draft submission from the inbox.
    • From the assignment inbox, tick the check-box next to the name of the student, then select Delete. (see screenshot below)

      It is advisable to first download a copy of the original file as a backup, - the download button in the same location.
