Q. What is the new theme for NILE?

As we head towards a new campus and a new academic year, we’ll be rolling out some exciting updates that will enhance your experience with NILE. These updates – featuring an updated look and feel, and a better mobile experience - will be available from Monday 20th August.

Don’t worry, this won’t affect your content, or the way you normally do things.

Here are some of the key improvements that you can expect to see:

  • Modern Look & Feel: With updated colours, fonts and spacing, you’ll notice a more modern and visually appealing look and feel. Some of the colours and layout will be slightly different and there will be standardised colours across all sites.
  • Consistency Across Your Devices: Expect a more uniform experience across all your devices, making it easier for you to switch from your laptop or computer to your phone or tablet.
  • A Better Mobile Experience: With more tools and features optimized for your mobile browser, it’ll be easier for you to complete activities on-the-go from your phone or tablet. And, for quick and easy access to your courses, download the Blackboard Instructor app, available for iOS, Android and Windows devices.
  • Receipts for Blackboard Assignment submissions: Students will now receive email receipts for any assignments submitted to a Blackboard Assignment. Turnitin submissions have always provided receipts as evidence of a successful submission. Now, that same service is available for all non-Turnitin submissions too.

More Information.

Although what you see will look slightly different, you will still be able to locate what you need and set things up in the same way.

We hope the new responsive theme provides a more accessible, consistent and enjoyable experience for all our users. If you would like to know any more about the use of NILE, please contact learntech@northampton.ac.uk

Please note: If you view this on a narrow screen, you won't see the normal three-column view on the home page which you are used to. You might find it easier to find your sites if you zoom out. Press and hold Ctrl, then tap the minus key once or twice until you get the desired result. To return to 100% view, do Ctrl 0.
