Q. How do I create an Interactive Video with Kaltura Path?

Answer

The new Kaltura Interactive Video tool enables a branched video experience by connecting multiple videos and providing the viewers with an option to choose their own path. The Interactive Video Editor enables you to add videos to the interactive project, connect between the videos, and add hotspots to videos. It’s important to note that all media used in the interactive video must be set to Unlisted to ensure any user watching the interactive video will be able to select any path.

Log in to video.northampton.ac.uk
Select the Add New menu.
Select Interactive Video from the drop-down menu

Set Details
Enter Name
Enter DescriptionAdd Media
Search My Media
Select the Add option

Drag and drop thumbnails onto canvasDrag the arrow from one video to another to create a pathway.Highlight a video to display the behaviour and properties of each node.

Remember to Save your project and then go to My Media to preview your Path interactive video.

Accessibility Update

PATH playback now supports:

  • Keyboard navigation- Means viewers can navigate to hotspots using keyboard Tab
  • Screen readers- Means screen readers detect hotspots

As always, it requires users to enable the accessibility option in their OS.
