Q. What is the new NILE homepage for staff

What is the new NILE homepage for staff

Answer

The NILE homepage was updated on Tuesday 2 June, giving you a simple navigation and allowing you to access all the information you need in a more intuitive way. This is part of the process of responding to staff and student comments in recent digital surveys to update NILE.

What is the new navigation like?

This new menu lives outside of modules and programmes. It includes links to new pages such as the Activity Stream, Calendar, Messages, etc. that provide quick access to the most critical information consolidated from all your sites.

What does this mean for me?

Your courses have not changed. They look and operate exactly as they did prior to the upgrade.

How will this enhance your efficiency and experience?

Rapid login to NILE. Whether you are following NILE links from the student portal or going straight to the NILE homepage, there is now a simple process to get you logged in. If you get the the NILE login page then just click on "Log in to NILE with your UON ID" and then click "University of Northampton ID"

New login page

Works well on mobile devices. This navigation is designed to work well regardless of which device you’re using. Ideally download the Blackboard Instructor app for the best experience on your mobile.

Easy access to all your courses and organisations.

Aggregates important information. All your course and organisation information – like calendar, messages and grades – are now consolidated into one global view, minimizing the time spent navigating into each individual course.

Only one click away. See something that needs your attention? Just click on it and you will be taken directly there, minimising clicks and saving time.

Optional Ultra Course View. With the Ultra Base Navigation, the University will be able to pilot Blackboard’s new course interface, the Ultra Course View. Deans have been asked to see if there are any staff in their Faculties who would be interested in this

Where can I find more information?
