Following a software update to Blackboard Learn in December 2025, SCORM content items that previously launched in a new browser window will now show inside a frame within the NILE module. It is recommended you review how your SCORM content displays following that update to ensure that your particular content still looks and works its best. You can change a setting to have the SCORM content open in a new window, along with several other options giving you greater control over how the content is displayed.
The following guidance shows how to set SCORM content to open in a new browser window at full screen. There are many other advanced options available to explore either on your own or with the support of your Subject's Learning Technologist. Please get in touch if you would like further guidance.
Setting SCORM Launch Behaviour
Here is an example SCORM package that launches within a frame in NILE.

The view is somewhat restricted. We will change the settings so that it opens in a new full screen browser window.
Select the ellipsis next to the SCORM content item and choose Edit from the menu:

Scroll down the options and expand the Advanced Settings section:

Choose your selections under the heading Launch Behaviour.
In this example, we want to open the SCORM content in a new full screen browser window to match how it was displayed before the December update. This is achieved with the Player launch type set to 'New window' and the New Window Options set to 'Full-screen'. Use the Save button to commit the changes:

The result in this example is more available screen space for the content, which matches the behaviour prior to the software update in December 2025:
