The Society of College, National and University Libraries (SCONUL) is a society that represents the UK’s university libraries along with several libraries with collections of significance. Through SCONUL you can apply to gain access to other participating libraries. This includes access to visit and view the collections, and may also include some borrowing rights.
In order to apply for SCONUL access to another University library your University of Northampton library account must be in good standing and a responsible borrower.
The SCONUL website provides information about the scheme, and can be used to apply for SCONUL access. Once you have been approved, you can use the confirmation email to apply for SCONUL associate membership with the participating library you would like to access. The access they provide along with their rules and regulations are individual to each library, so get in contact with the library you are applying to if you have queries about their membership.
