SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) is a statistical software package that analyses quantitative data.

1. You can download Windows and Mac versions of SPSS via the IT Services webpage on the Student Hub, in the 'software' section. Scroll down to SPSS

2. Once the file has downloaded locate it within the downloads folder

3. Right click on the file and click Extract All… If you do not have the option for extract all, you will need to install a separate zip software such as 7Zip or PeaZip. These can be found on their official websites. Please refer to documentation on their websites on how to install and operate these softwares

Windows right click shows Extract All as fourth option

4. Select the location you want the file to be extracted to and click the tick box Show extracted files when complete

5. Double click on the SPSS application file to run the installer

6. The SPSS installer will then open. Read the text on each page carefully and click Next if you agree. A final pop up will appear when you have agreed each stage. By clicking Agree, you agree to the terms and conditions so please read it carefully

SPSS installer terms and conditions. Next is bottom middle button

7. The installation window will appear when you have agreed the terms. On the page click Install
