Normally the Microsoft Outlook desktop application does not show you items that are over 12 months old. This guide shows you 2 ways that you can view Outlook items that are over 12 months old using both Outlook online and the Outlook desktop application.

Outlook online

Outlook online holds all emails from the point the email address was created. Therefore, if you head to Outlook online you will be able to see all Outlook items over 12 months old.

Outlook application

To view Outlook items that are over 12 months old from within the Outlook applications you will need to:

1. Click File at the top left of your Outlook application

2. Make sure you are on the Info tab

3. Click the Account Settings button and then select Account Settings from the dropdown

Click on Account Settings and select the first option from the dropdown which is also called Account Settings

4. On the account settings window that appears click the Change… button

5. From here you can slide the slider along to select the age of items you would like to see. Once you have selected a time click Next

Slide the slider along to the selected timeframe

6. Click Done and these settings will apply

After applying the settings it may take a few minutes for all your new items to appear.
