University of Northampton printers

Printing is managed by the University’s IT department, and we can assist you with printing queries. Printing is available to staff and students of the University of Northampton. Please note that there is no printing facility for visitors or Associate Members (including SCONUL).

If it is your first time using the printers, or if you have not used them for a while, you will need to update your ID card and register on the printer to use it.

To use the printers you will first need to send your file to print, once you have done this find one of the printers and you will be able to 'release' (print out) your file. This can be done on any printer on campus. There are several printers located within the Learning Hub, they are often found near the waste and recycling points. Here are the locations of some of the printers;

  • On the ground floor, between the journals and the laptop cabinet (near the Market Restaurant)
  • On the first floor, near the Ground café
  • On the second floor, near the laptop cabinet by the School Experience collection
  • On the third floor, by the balcony.

Other functions

You can also scan using the printers, sending the document to your University email or your OneDrive. Please note, it can take up to 24 hours for the scan option to become available after you have logged into a University printer for the first time. Once this time has passed, the ‘Scan’ icon will be available on your account. You can speak with IT services if you are unsure about scanning as they will be able to assist you.

Who can help me use the printers?

If you are near the staffed Library Help Desk on the 2nd floor of the Learning Hub, we are always happy to help you use the printer. If your question is about your printing account, you can ask IT Services in the following ways:
