Sometimes accidents can happen, you might have lost or damaged a library resource, we understand. Please contact us by sending an email to libraryteam@northampton.ac.uk and let us know what has happened. If something is lost, we'll start a search for it and would ask if you can search again too... Resources usually end up turning up! Either making their way back to the library collection, or get found in an unexpected place... on a coffee table or in a car footwell. It's easy to overlook a book when you've been using it for a while, it can blend in!
If we can't find the book we may have to consider a replacement, the team will discuss this with you and will let you know the next steps.
For damaged resources, we'll look at the damage and consider if we can repair the item ourselves (our team are very good with the repair tape and re-binding). If we're unable to repair it, we may consider replacing it if the resource is on a reading list or heavily used. We will consider this and will discuss the next steps with you.
Whatever the outcome, we understand and we're not angry, we are here to help and will do what we can to avoid having to replace a resource wherever possible. If we do need to replace something, we do accept replacement copies if the book provided has the same ISBN and is a good quality copy (with no writing / markings inside the book) in the first instance.
Please let us know, we are happy to chat and can help guide you with this process. No one situation is ever the same, so we'd prefer to talk with you first, so reach out to us and we'll see how we can help.
