What is UON_ResNet?

UON_ResNet is a Wi-Fi network available only at St John's Halls of Residence and St John's House.

Why should I use UON_ResNet?

  1. It is a network designed to allow your devices to communicate with each other and the internet, making it perfect for phones, smart devices, gaming consoles, and AI assistants.
  2. It has the same firewall rules as the UON_Gaming network that is available on other sites around the UON campus.
  3. It’s easy to connect to! You don’t need to contact IT; you can complete every step yourself!

How do I connect to UON_ResNet?

To connect to UON_ResNet, follow the instructions below.

  1. From any device, scan the QR code or click this link.

  2. Unless you have already signed-in to your browser, you will be prompted to sign-in using your university e-mail address and password.
  3. Once you have signed-in, you will reach a page with both a unique QR code and a unique passphrase. To sign into the Wi-Fi, you can either scan the QR code or enter the passphrase when connecting.

  4. If you click “E-mail Passphrase” a copy of your password and the QR code will be sent to your inbox. If you need to generate a new password, you can click “Generate New Passphrase” to do so. This page will continue to be accessible to you through the QR code and link listed in step 1 of this article.

Is there anything else I should know?

UON_ResNet currently restricts each user to 5 devices at a time. If you wish to connect more than 5 devices then you will need to submit a ticket with the Integrated Helpdesk containing your e-mail address with the required number of devices.
