What is UON_ResNet?
UON_ResNet is a Wi-Fi network available only at St John's Halls of Residence and St John's House.
Why should I use UON_ResNet?
- It is a network designed to allow your devices to communicate with each other and the internet, making it perfect for phones, smart devices, gaming consoles, and AI assistants.
- It has the same firewall rules as the UON_Gaming network that is available on other sites around the UON campus.
- It’s easy to connect to! You don’t need to contact IT; you can complete every step yourself!
How do I connect to UON_ResNet?
To connect to UON_ResNet, follow the instructions below.
- From any device, scan the QR code or click this link.
- Unless you have already signed-in to your browser, you will be prompted to sign-in using your university e-mail address and password.
- Once you have signed-in, you will reach a page with both a unique QR code and a unique passphrase. To sign into the Wi-Fi, you can either scan the QR code or enter the passphrase when connecting.
- If you click “E-mail Passphrase” a copy of your password and the QR code will be sent to your inbox. If you need to generate a new password, you can click “Generate New Passphrase” to do so. This page will continue to be accessible to you through the QR code and link listed in step 1 of this article.
Is there anything else I should know?
UON_ResNet currently restricts each user to 5 devices at a time. If you wish to connect more than 5 devices then you will need to submit a ticket with the Integrated Helpdesk containing your e-mail address with the required number of devices.
