The UON Help Desk Team can provide a generic academic reference for current and former students.

It is critical to note that due to Data Protection Legislation, we are unable to release any student information without a signed University of Northampton Help Desk - Data Protection Consent Form. Your reference request cannot proceed until this form is fully completed and returned to references@northampton.ac.uk

To request a reference, follow these steps:

If you are the student (Applicant):

  1. Fill out part 1: Complete part 1 of the Data Protection Consent Form with your personal details
  2. Forward the form: Send the partially completed form to the company or organisation you have applied to
  3. Final submission: Ask the company to fill out part 2 and then email both the reference request and the fully completed consent form to references@northampton.ac.uk

If you are the company / external requester:

  1. Applicant action: Ask your applicant (the student) to complete part 1 of the required consent form and return it to you
  2. Requester action: Once you receive the partially completed form, you must fully complete part 2
  3. Submit request: Once both parts are complete, please return the entire form with the reference request to references@northampton.ac.uk for review.

Important note on forms

Please note that we do not fill in forms or any section of the forms on behalf of students or external parties. Both parties are responsible for completing their respective sections accurately.

Award Verification
