Printing is managed by the University’s IT department. Printing is only available to staff and students of the University of Northampton. Please note that there is no printing facility for visitors or Associate Members (including SCONUL).

Before using the printers

Before using the printers we advise you use one of the ID card contact update points around the Waterside Campus. These are small white boxes on the wall, and can be found throughout the Learning Hub and around the Waterside Campus. If you are unsure where to find these, one can be found below the large wall-mounted screen on the ground floor of the Learning Hub. Holding your card against this until the lights change to green will ensure your ID card is updated and ready to use.

Logging into the printers

You log in to the printers using your University ID and password.

If it is the first time you have used the printers (or if it is the first time you have used them for a long time), you can hold your University ID card to the contact point labelled ‘Please place your card here’ to begin first time setup.

""

Type your student number or staff ID and University password (the password you use for NILE) into the fields that appear, then press ‘Set’. It will then return you to the login screen. From now on, you can tap your card against the contact point and it will log you in automatically.

You can also log in by typing your student number or staff ID and University password into the front screen.

Remember to log out when you have finished using the printer, by pressing the 'Logout' button at the top of the screen.

I'm having trouble logging into the printers, who can help me?

If you have difficulties with this, library or IT staff will be happy to help you. Library staff can be found at the Library Help Desk on the 2nd floor of the Learning Hub.
