Here at the University of Northampton we use Mobility Print to allow access to directly print from your device to the printers across campus. 

 

Set up Mobility Print on your Mobile Device

Requirements:
Operating systems:

  • iOS 16.0+
  • macOS 12+ (Monterey) (64-bit)
  • Windows 11, Windows 10 (64-bit and ARM64)
  • Windows S mode is not supported at this time.
  • Android 12.0+
  • Currently, we do not Support Google Chrome Books

Your mobile device needs to be connected to the University Network to allow access to Printing.

iOS device (iPhones & iPads)

Installing printers:

  • Click on the download button
  • It will prompt to allow the download of a configuration profile
  • .
  • Click Allow
  • It will say a new profile has been installed

  • Click Close
  • Open Settings on your device
  • Open Profiles (May be under VPN & Device Management or search for Profiles)
  • Click on the Mobile-Print Profile
  • Click on Install in the top right corner of the message that comes up.

  • This will then install the profile and press Done

  • This will then show the below screen

 

Using the printers:

From this point when on campus follow this process to print.

  • Open the file you want to print too
  • Click on Share
  • Choose Print

 

  • Then choose the printer dependant on If you want to print “black or white” or “colour”
  • On the first print it will ask for your University Of Northampton Email address and password.

  • Press OK
  • Set how you would like to the print to come out.
  • Press Print to send to the printer

  • Go to a printer around campus
  • Put your card on the card reader on the top side of the printer (says put card here)
  • If the first time you will need to enter your Northampton Email address and password using the onscreen keyboard to join your ID card to your account.
  • On the printer click on release when the screen comes up
  • Select the files you want to print
  • Press the Release button
  • This should then print out your selected files
  • Once all printed press logout at the top of the screen on the printer.

Android Devices

Installing printers:

  • Click on “Install or Update”
  • This will open the Google play centre for the app Install the Client App
  • Once the client has been installed, open the app
  • Click on click on “Check the Mobility Print Service is on”

  • Click the back Arrow on the top left
  • Click on the “Mobility Print Notifications
  • Press “Allow”.

Using the printers:

  • To print, select the file you need to open.

  • This will allow you to select the required Print Queue (UON-MobilityPrint-Colour or UON-MobilityPrint-BW).

  • Once the Queue has been selected, you can use the down arrow to make changes to the various printing options such as paper size.

  • Click on the Printer Icon to send the print to the printer.

  • On first print you will be told that you need to log in via notification
  • Click on the notification
  • Enter your University Of Northampton Email and password
  • Click on sign in and print

  • You should have a confirmation notification pop up to say the print has been successful.
