Printing at the University

If you are using the printers for the first time you will need to register your card

Summer 2025, from the 18th August 2025, brings an all-new printing solution to the University, in the form of new (grey) printers replacing the old (beige) ones, and the removal of the Print Web service which is being replaced with Print Deploy.

 

We support the following systems to print from:

Operating systems:

  • iOS 16.0+
  • macOS 12+ (Monterey) (64-bit)
  • Windows 11, Windows 10 (64-bit and ARM64)
  • Windows S mode is not supported at this time.
  • Android 12.0+
  • Currently, we do not Support Google Chrome Book

 

To print from your mobile device (Android phone, iPhone or iPad) please follow this guide: How do I print using my mobile device?

 

To get up-and-running with Print Deploy:

  • Download the Print Deploy installer for your device by clicking on one of the links below.
  • Download the installer
  • Run the file from your download folder
  • On the first screen press “Next”

  • It will then install

  • Then when prompted Press Finish

  • Once successfully installed, you should see a green printer icon
    • On MacOS this will be in the top-right on the menu bar
    • On Windows this will be in the bottom-right on the taskbar (you may have to press the arrow to show it)
  • It should then automatically show the login screen

  • Login with your university email address and password, and wait for the new printers to install, these are:
    • Windows:
      • UON-Staff-Win01
      • UON-Staff-Win02
      • UON-HeavyPaper01 (specific Teams only)
      • UON-Transparency (Specific teams only)
    • MAC/Student Windows Printers:
      • UON-MobilityPrint-BW
      • UON-MobilityPrint-Colour
  • If the Print Deploy login screen doesn’t appear automatically, click the green icon and select “view my printers” to launch it
  • After a few seconds, these should both show “installed”, and you can close the window
  • Then all you need do is choose the required printer from your apps, and print directly to the printer.
