Deciding whether to defer is a very personal choice but we will help support you, where possible, with whichever decision you make. If you have any concerns, we would be happy to discuss your deferral options with you through email at admissions@northampton.ac.uk or over the phone at 0300 303 2772.

If you do decide to defer, please bear in mind the following points:

1. You will still need to meet the conditions of your offer this year. For example, if you receive a conditional offer in 2023 /24 to start a course in 2025, you must have the exam results / grades to meet the conditions of your offer by September 2024 (or the start date of your studies here at UON if your offer is for a January or April intake date).

2. For some of our professional Healthcare courses, such as Nursing and Midwifery, we have very limited spaces for each entry date. For these programmes, if you defer your place, you will not be able to move back to your original month or year of entry.

3. You won’t be able to re-apply elsewhere in the next application cycle while you hold a place here at UON. However, if you change your mind and no longer wish to attend UON, you can withdraw your deferred application.
