Q. How do I use Collaborate? (Virtual Classroom)

Answer

The University’s online Virtual Classroom tool Blackboard Collaborate Ultra enables you to interact with your students online through webcams, screen sharing, and chat.

In order to use Collaborate it must be made available within a NILE site, we suggest staff contact the Learning Technology team to assist with this and to provide training on the tool.

Once Collaborate has been made available, it can be added as a tool link on the left navigation bar. Students will then be able to access their sessions through their NILE site. Staff can also use the guest link feature to and provide a URL, and may or send this to students using the announcements tool.

In both methods, students will access the link through a browser on a PC/Mac (Chrome is recommended).
