What is the PebblePad 'Master' workbook?

What the master workbook is for and why it is important.

Answer

Every PebblePad workbook needs to have a Master copy, from which all future copies can be made.

The master document is:

  • Always fully up to date, the most current version.
  • Safe to edit and update throughout the year.
  • Never Live -never being used by students!
  • Stored in your resource account.

Whenever you have any changes, amendments or alterations to make to your workbook, always do these to the master.

When you are ready to deploy a new workbook to a new cohort, make a copy of the master, which has been kept up-to-date. Rename the copy to replace the word 'master' in the title to be the month and year the cohort started in brackets.

Warning: Do not make any alterations to a workbook that students have already started working on. You risk losing data. If you do need to edit a live workbook, it must be something crucial to the function of the workbook and must be done in consultation with your learning technologist to ensure it is done as safely as possible.
