My Mac computer will not allow me to share my screen on Collaborate. How can I fix this?

Answer

When using a Mac computer, you may find that nothing happens when you click the Share button in a Collaborate session. This FAQ shows the steps involved to fix the problem by allowing your web browser to perform screen recording. You can change this setting at any time if you wish to revoke the permission later.

  1. Open System Preferences on your Mac.
  2. Select the Security and Privacy preference pane.
  3. Choose the Privacy heading.
  4. In the left pane, select Screen Recording or Screen Sharing.
  5. In the right pane, ensure that the checkbox for Chrome is ticked.

NOTE: You may need to unlock your preferences pane to make these changes. The lock icon in the bottom left will enable you to enter your Mac account's password and unlock the settings.
