There are two main reasons why staff and students may not be able to upload files directly into NILE:

1. If the file is a video or audio file and is not being uploaded using Kaltura.

Staff and students can upload all common types of video and audio files to NILE, regardless of size, but these must be uploaded using Kaltura, the University's media streaming system. To find out more about how to use Kaltura to upload video and audio files to NILE, please see the links below.

2. If the file is larger than 1024MB (1GB) and is not a video or audio file.

Other than video and audio files, files which are larger than 1024MB (1GB) cannot be uploaded to NILE. These files must be reduced in size before being uploaded.
