Yes, there are plug sockets around the campus that you can use to charge your laptop or phone. Many of the desks and seating areas in the Learning Hub have power sockets so you can plug in your devices. There is a mixture of traditional power sockets and USB sockets on many of the power points, allowing you to the option to plug in devices with a USB charger. Some of the seating has built-in power sockets for convenient charging, you will locate these on the front or side of the seating, near the floor.

We are unable to lend out chargers, however there are laptops available from the laptop cabinets that are charged to provide you with up to 6 hours of continuous use. If your laptop device is low on charge, you can borrow one of these laptops to use in the meantime.

If you have any issues with the power sockets please let us know, you can speak with a member of library staff (identified by a yellow lanyard / staff ID ribbon), or by giving feedback by sending an email to us at libraryfeedback@northampton.ac.uk and we will inform the Facilities team on your behalf so that the problem can be resolved.

Please do not leave items unattended while they are charging, if you need to leave for food or drink, take them with you. You are welcome to eat and drink within the Learning Hub, so you can plug your items in to charge again once you have collected your food or drinks.
