Following a successful upgrade, the University of Northampton is now live with new RefWorks. All UON RefWorks users should now login at https://refworks.proquest.com/

We have been notified that on Friday June 30th 2023 legacy RefWorks (refworks.com) will be retired. If you are a legacy RefWorks user, you can migrate your references and upgrade to New RefWorks at any time up until 30th June by following these upgrade instructions.

After upgrading your account, you will still be able to use the Word Write-N-Cite plug-in (RefWorks tab in Word) with New RefWorks. However, we would recommend that when you start a new piece of work you switch to using the RefWorks Citation Manager (the RCM Tab in Word).

Write-N-Cite is compatible with Windows PCs running MS Word 2016 and older. RefWorks Citation Manager (is compatible with PCs and Macs running MS Word 2016 and newer).

For legacy RefWorks accounts that meet the follow criteria we will automatically migrate references into New RefWorks on Monday May 22nd 2023:

  • All current UON staff

  • All current UON PhD / Research Students

  • All accounts with 10 or more references and with a login date of 2018 or after

  • Selected other accounts based on contextual criteria.
