When you need help with your studies, the library teams are here to support you. We will look at the different ways to meet with library staff, the teams and what you can do if you're not sure which to chose.
Drop-ins
Drop-ins happen every week day in term time and you do not need to book in advance. They are run by the Learning Development team and they can talk to you about assignments, academic writing and referencing. The sessions are 10 minutes long and are for quick questions and advice.
They are in-person on the blue sofas on the 2nd floor of the Learning Hub. You can also join an online meeting using Collaborate. Twice a week, you can also speak to a Maths and Stats specialist tutor.
Tutorials
Tutorials are booked in advance and are between 25 and 50 minutes. You can book to see;
- Learning Development, who can help with academic writing and study skills
- Academic Librarians, who can help with finding and using sources
- Language Development, who can help if English is not your first language.
You can see who you need to online or in-person. The tutorials are available up to two weeks in advance, and you can have one tutorial a week. The teams are very friendly, and they want to help you. We have guides to help you get the most out of your tutorial.
