When applying for a job, you may be asked for a Curriculum Vitae (CV). This is a summary of your education, work experience and skills that gives an employer an overview of you as a person and shows them how you fit the job they are advertising.
If you need help to write or update a CV, there are several ways you can get support.
If you already have a CV, you can run it through our own Applicant Tracking System (ATS) software, CV360, in the Student Futures Portal. This will give you an instant report. You will be able to read the feedback and make changes to your CV. You can use the software as many times as you like for different versions of your CV.
As a current student, please use this link to access the CV360 programme.
If you are a University of Northampton graduate, please use this link to access CV360.
If you need help to start writing a CV, have a look at these suggestions and then use CV360 to check what you have written afterwards.
If you would like more personalised feedback, you can submit your CV for review after getting it checked in CV360. Follow these instructions to send your CV to our careers team:
- Click on the CV360 tile
- Click START HERE
- Drag or upload your CV
- Wait for the report to be generated
- Click on the submit for review button at the top of the page
- Enter a note to say what you need this CV for
- Press submit for review again.
Your CV will then be sent to the Student Futures careers team who will give you some specific feedback. This process can take up to 5 working days.
If you need further help, you can also book an appointment via the Student Futures Portal if you are a current student, or by emailing us on studentfutures@northampton.ac.uk if you are a graduate. Please remember to give us your full name and student ID when you contact us.
