You can download Windows and Mac versions of SPSS through the IT Services webpage on the Student Hub, towards the bottom of the page. There are instructions for downloading and installing the software, depending on your device:

SPSS is also available on the Student short loan laptops available from the laptop cabinets in the Learning Hub.

We also have guides in renewing the license, using SPSS, and where to get help.

I'm having trouble downloading SPSS, who can help me?

There are lots of ways to contact IT Services and they will be happy to help:

You can visit IT Services on the ground floor of the Learning Hub:

  • Mondays to Thursdays 8.30am to 5pm

  • Fridays 10am to 5pm.

You need to collect a paper ticket from the kiosk, and wait for your number to be called. You can wait in IT's service area, behind the glass screens to the right of the Student Information Desk.

You can also call the IT helpdesk on 01604 893333

  • Mondays to Thursdays 8am to 5pm

  • Fridays 8am to 9am, and then 10am to 5pm.

You can also raise a ticket in the IT Portal at any time.

If you are a student based outside the UK, you can contact IT Services by emailing Int_ITSupport@northampton.ac.uk

Who can help me use SPSS?

Library and Learning Services are happy to help with using SPSS. The Maths and Stats team have a drop-in and bookable tutorials where you can pop in and ask a quick question. LinkedIn Learning also has videos to help with using SPSS. We have a guide available for logging in and using LinkedIn Learning, which is free for students and staff at UON.
