You can now use NELSON to check the items on your account and renew them if you need to. You need to make sure that you are logged into NELSON, we have a guide available if you need help.

If you are having trouble logging in, please email libraryhelp@northampton.ac.uk and let us know your student number and we will help you log in.

We have a video that shows you how to renew your items in NELSON, with written instructions below

Once logged in, click on the down arrow next to your student number or name, and click on ‘My Account’

QR code, pin and your student number or staff code

Chose the ‘Loans’ tab. It will have a red watch icon next to it if there are items you can renew

In 'My Library Account' and then loan tab, you will see your active loans

You can click the down arrow next to the entry and it will give you more details. To renew, click the renew blue watch icon. When they have renewed you’ll see the yellow banner and see ‘Renewed’ and the new date.

Yellow success bar, with loans listed underneath

If you are not able to renew, you will see a black ‘not renewable’ padlock.

Loans listed with black padlock, they are not renewable. A pop-up shows the reason it can not be renewed

If you hover your curser over the padlock, or click on it on a touchscreen, a pop-up will tell you why it is not renewable. If you are not sure why you can’t renew or you think you should be able to renew, it may be because of the rules we have about loans.
