Our library staff are friendly and supportive and our aim is to enable, support and enhance your use of our services. If you need help with anything (like finding or collecting books, or printing or photocopying) then just ask! You can contact us by:

- our Chat service by clicking on the blue speech bubble at the bottom right of every page
- speaking with a member of library staff at the Library Help Desk, located on the second floor of the Learning Hub during staffed hours
- ask us a question using our 'Submit a Question' form

We are happy to help anyone who needs it. If your needs are complex, or if your disability, medical condition, specific learning difference, physical or mental health issues make using the Learning Hub difficult or overwhelming then please contact libraryhelp@northampton.ac.uk, we are happy to discuss tailored support.
Alternative format service
We understand that the format that some information that we have created or hold may not be in the best to meet your needs. We are happy try to provide what you need in the format you need it in, whenever you need it! Use any of the ways to contact us and we will be happy to talk about how we can make our resources and services accessible for you. You can also use the tools in NILE, called Ally. This gives you access to many different types of document support, from Immersive Reader to electronic braille. You can also email us directly with requests and questions to alternativeformats@northampton.ac.uk
Academic support
Library and Learning Services provides academic support through the Academic Librarians, Learning Development and the Language Development Centre tutors, who are happy to talk to you about your studies and provide academic guidance. Tutorial sessions are available both online and in person and can be booked at a time that is suitable for you. You can also attend a drop-in session, use the Skills Hub, or the library website that are full of useful online resources.
Further assistance
The University also provides support through ASSIST (which stands for Additional Student Support and Inclusion Services Team), they provide support for students with;
- physical impairments
- sensory impairments
- mental health difficulties
- medical conditions, for example epilepsy
- Autistic spectrum disorders
- specific learning difficulties, for example dyslexia.
