We know that library fines can be a big worry for student so we have don't charge late fines. There are some times when you may see a charge on your account. If you think you’ve got a library fine you can check this by logging in to your library account in NELSON.
What might I be fined for?
There are a few circumstances when you will see a fine or fee on your account:
- Laptops that are returned to the laptop cabinet late are fined at £1 for each hour they are late
- You have lost or damaged a book
- You have an item that another student has requested and you have not returned it on the due date
- You have an item on your account that is 28 days late.
We are always happy to talk to you about any of these, don't worry about talking to us.
If you have an item that is 28 days late, you will have been charged for its replacement. If you still have the item, please do not try and pay for it. Just return the item as soon as possible and the charge will be removed from your account. If you can't find the item, please do get in contact with us.
