If you are a current student at the University of Northampton you can find detailed instructions for connecting different devices to the Wi-Fi network in the downloads area of the IT Services webpage. This page also includes who to contact with connection issues if you are living in the Halls of Residence.
If you are a visitor to the University with your own device you can connect to and use the guest Wi-Fi option. Select the UoN_Guest network from the list of available networks on your device. When the network is connected, opening a web browser will redirect you to a registration screen, follow the instructions to create a temporary account. This account will expire after 24 hours so you will need to create a new account after each day.
If you are staff or a student at another University you may be able to use the Eduroam Wi-Fi network. You will see Eduroam listed as an option of available Wi-Fi networks on your device. Speak to your home institution if you need assistance connecting.
If you are a University of Northampton student or member of staff visiting another university and wish to connect via the Eduroam network, your login information for Eduroam is slightly different to logging in to the University Wi-Fi. Your user name will be your student number (or staff username) with @northampton.ac.uk after it. So, for example, if your student number is 1234567 your username becomes firstname.lastname@example.org. Your password is the same password you use to login to NILE or NELSON.
