Yes! We are happy to provide a free postal returns service for your library items. We use a service called Sorted. There are thousands of drop off locations all over the UK, and the service is completely free to you.

How do I prepare to send the books?

  1. Visit the Sorted website where you can enter your email address. This will create a free post label that we have paid for, these labels are only valid for up to 48 hours after being created, so please create the label when you intend to post the item
  2. You will need to package the items securely, a bag secured with strong tape will be fine. If you pack them in a box you may need to use padding to ensure they are not damaged. If you have several items to return, please be aware of the limits per parcel:
  • 10kg weight limit – you can manage this by splitting your books into as many packages as you need to and print each one a label - each parcel requires a separate uniquely generated label
  • Size limit of 60cm by 50cm by 50cm
  1. The freepost parcel label will be sent to the email address entered, once you have pressed submit you will be given the option to download the label as a PDF to print, so if you are sending two or more parcels follow the instructions above and enter your email address again to create a new label for each parcel.

Where can I go to drop the packages off?

You can use the Collect+ Store Locator to find your nearest or most convenient Collect+ drop off point.

Once you have prepared your parcel for delivery, we need you to:

  • Take a photo of the prepared parcel and send it to libraryhelp@northampton.ac.uk This will help us find it easily once it has reached the University
  • You need to track the parcel using the details in the Sorted emails you received. If the parcel has not been delivered within 7 working days since posting you must contact Yodel to follow up, and reply to this email with the claim details to inform us that the parcel may be lost.

There are lots of ways you can contact us, if you’re having any problems:
