Library and Learning Services offer tailored support to help you to achieve the best degree result possible and the teams are always happy to help:
- The Academic Librarians can help you find, evaluate and reference information for your assignments alongside enabling you to make the best use of NELSON and subject specific databases
- Learning Development offers guidance and tuition on academic skills such as essay writing, dissertations, critical analysis, presentation skills, maths and statistics. You can see them in a 1:1 tutorial, a lunchtime drop-in session for 10 minutes, or in a group session, with every session covering a different topic
- Language Development can help you with academic language, when English is not your first language
- You can book a tutorial to see the Academic Librarians, Learning Development and Language Development in-person or online
- You can use the Learning Development drop-in for quick advice about your academic work.
Your tutor will be able to offer advice related to your course and what would be required to achieve a good degree in your particular field. Your Personal Academic Tutor can also help you with your studies. Also, you might like to check out Section 8 of the Student Handbook for details of how the classification for an award is calculated.
As a student you also have access to Skills Hub and LinkedIn Learning and both have lots of information and courses on academic skills.
