At the moment, printing is free to students as the system is still being trialed. This means your account will show a debit balance as you print now, but as and when a pay for use service comes on-line all balances will be returned to zero. Any second or third year students who had a balance on their account, before the change to the new system, will have their balance restored in the new system. All printing charges will be clearly displayed at the point of the change and an email communication will be sent to all members of the University to ensure people do not incur charges for printing, in the belief that it is still free. Any queries about this should be directed to IT Services, either by using the portal or visit them on the IT Services desk, on the ground floor of the Learning Hub between 8.30am and 5.30pm.

  1. So we will all get an email stating it is no longer free when this occurs, as I keep checking how I can add credit to the system and I can't so I've been presuming it's free at the moment?

  2. Dear Jess. Thanks for your comment. At the moment, printing is still free. This is an IT decision and they will widely publicise this before any charges take effect.
