Spring Break Information

Library staff will be taking a well deserved break over the bank holiday weekend. We will be back in on Wednesday 3rd April at 9am but library services will still be running, and there are lots of UON teams onsite if you need them.

The University of Northampton has a number of facilities available to those staying in University-owned accommodation.

Cleaning and laundry

There are launderettes available on all sites, providing washing machines and tumble driers for use.

You are responsible for keeping your room, bathrooms and kitchen clean and tidy, and cleaning up after yourself in all communal areas in the accommodation. Cleaning equipment includes vacuum cleaners and mops and buckets, and they are provided in the kitchens.

External communal areas of the building (such as stairwells, elevators and hallways) are cleaned by our Facilities Team.

Catering

All of our accommodation is self-catered, the halls provide general kitchen appliances for use, including toasters and microwaves, but you will need to bring your own pots, pans, and cutlery.

Parking

There is limited parking space available for students living in our Waterside Halls and Scholars Green Student Village; permits are allocated on a termly basis and are not guaranteed. Students with disabilities and those who need a car for placements as parts of their course will be prioritised, other criteria also apply. If successful, permits are charged at £100 per term.

The University does not offer any parking space for students living in St. John's Halls, however these residents can apply for the Council permit scheme.

For more information about parking, please see the University's travel and transport page.

Recycling and waste collection

Recycling facilities are available in all of our halls of residence, as well as in academic and administrative areas. We provide bins for:

  • Food, paper, cardboard, plastics, cans and general waste
  • Glass bottles
  • Printer and toner cartridges
  • Clothing and textiles.
