UON staff driving for work purposes, using UON or private vehicles could be involved in a road traffic incident with the risk of injury to staff or others.

Essential business drivers: staff who use a University supplied (or leased) vehicle to carry out their routine work activities.

Occasional business drivers: staff who either hire a vehicle or choose to use their own private vehicle for occasional business purposes.

Any member of staff using their own vehicle for travel on University business is responsible for ensuring their vehicle is appropriately insured, taxed and if required, has a valid MOT certificate.

There is also a UON Driving and the Use of Vehicles at Work Policy available to read.

There is also a homepage that lists the range of Health and Safety risks identified as relevant to the University's activities and facilities, together with information on the University's policies and arrangements on how these risks are to be managed and controlled.
