Travel by University staff and students to potentially hostile or high-risk locations and environments could lead present risks of illness, injury, or kidnap and hostage taking.

The University will not knowingly allow its staff to travel on university business to potentially high-risk international locations and will always apply the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office travel advice in deciding on the approval of the travel proposal or not.

The University’s process for organising and arranging travel is provided on the University of Northampton Staff Hub

If you have specific questions relating to your proposed travel to a higher-risk international location, contact ‘travelinfo’ explaining your proposed destination at the earliest opportunity to obtain travel advice at travelinfo@northampton.ac.uk

There is also a homepage that lists the range of Health and Safety risks identified as relevant to the University's activities and facilities, together with information on the University's policies and arrangements on how these risks are to be managed and controlled.
