I'm a new staff member, what can the library do to support me?

Welcome to the University of Northampton! This website, AskUs, has a lot of answers to frequently asked questions. You can click on links on these pages to find out more information, or you can search for your questions using the 'Type your question' box at the top of the page. If you don't see the question that you have you can send it to us and we'll get back to you! You can submit a question in the 'submit a question' form on the front page, or you can send us an email at libraryhelp@northampton.ac.uk

Staff are also very welcome to use our library chat service. 

Your staff card is your library card and it is what you use to borrow books. If you have any problems borrowing items or accessing any LLS service, please let us know as soon as you can by using the enquiry form or email address above.

There are lots of ways you can contact us, any time of the day or night:

• our Chat service by clicking on the blue speech bubble at the bottom right of every page
• speaking with a member of library staff at the Library Help Desk, located on the second floor of the Learning Hub during staffed hours
• ask us a question using our 'Submit a Question' form

Use our chat service, day or night!

You can use our Chat service, and you will have access to library staff or a librarian every day and night of the year! You can click on the blue speech bubble icon found in the bottom right of every library webpage and AskUs entry.

Using the webform

You can also use our web form and fill in as much detail as possible. We check these each working day and will get back to you as quickly as we can.

You can use NELSON, Northampton Electronic Library Search ONline, to search for our holdings of books, journals, e-books, e-journals, videos and more. You can also use our A-Z database list to help find the resources you need.

There is a Staff handbook available, along with documents relating to University Policy, Procedures and Regulations. 

Our website, and the staff drop-down menu, will have have lots of information and pages that might help you.

We also have a Chat service from every page of the AskUs and the LLS website which you are very welcome to use as a member of staff, to ask any LLS related questions.
