When you have found a book you want to borrow take it to one of our self-service machines. You can search for library resources using NELSON but if you’re not sure how please visit our How do I find books? guide.
We have self-service machines to enable library users to borrow resources, the machines for borrowing are;
- on the ground floor of the Learning Hub, next to the returns machine
- located opposite the Library Help Desk on the second floor of the Learning Hub
- next to the laptop cabinets on the third floor of the Learning Hub
- and in the Silent Study area on the fourth floor of the Learning Hub.
To use these machines to issue a book press 'borrow', then scan your University ID on the barcode scanner below the screen to log in. Then, place the resources one at a time onto the shelf below the screen. Each resource will appear on the screen with a due date. If there are any issues, the item will have a red cross next to it with a message to speak with library staff (this resource will not have issued to your account).
When you are finished press 'finish' to log off of the machine.
If you need help using the self-service machines, library staff will be more than happy to assist.
